Your name & age: Paula, 19.
Your SO's name & age: Matt, 21

Any kids?: Soon!

So, my husband and I are currently going through our last (for a long while, hopefully) seperation. We met on the internet, so being apart is nothing new for us. We dated online for a year before we met in person for the first time.. he spent a month up here in Canada. Then, we were apart for another two years before we saw eachother again for another month. Then, this last January I made the big move to Japan where we've been living together for the past six months. We thought this was going to be permenant because we had planned to get married over there.. but you know the air force, you can't take a shit without filling out paperwork. All of it was just too much and too complicated and six months was not enough time to get it all done. Sooo.. we both flew back to Canada where we got married.. and he left a week later. Now I'm staying here for six months until he PCS's because command sponsorshipping me would mean he would get extended a year, and he HATES Misawa. It's definetly been incredibly difficult for me.. we've been apart before, but this time is different. Before we had only a short amount of time with eachother, and this time we actually got acustomed to living with each other, and always having the other one there. I miss him more than I can possibly express... but I'm sure some of you can well relate.

Anyway, so here I am for the next six months. Up next is Aviano, Italy! I was wondering if any of you are stationed there? I'm really curious as to what the off base houses look like.. Because I was less than impressed with the Misawa off base housing. Any ideas, or better yet, pictures, would be greatly appreciated.. and I look forward to getting to know you all :)

welcome....I have lived in Italy but not at Aviano.. most of the houses in Italy are somewhat small, nothing compared to what we are use to...The do not have closets sop they base wil lprovide you with wardrobes and they don't come with stuff in the kitchen so the base will also provide that.( the cabinets, stove refrigerator, and some places even the sink..) They have base housing but it isn't on base.. it is scattered among the community.. You will like it there,. we loved Italy just not the base we were on...

Hi! My names Nadine, and I'm married to an airman. We're currently stationed at Shaw AFB, in Sumter, SC. We have a best friend that's stationed at Misawa, Japan. He LOVES it there. How does your husband like it?

Anyways it was nice to meet you and welcome to the community.

I know exactly how you feal, I was active duty for four 1/2 years and my husband is still in we went to a school then the c school togeather then I went up to Washington and he went down to Hawaii, I flew down there and we got married then the next day I had to fly back to WA becasue I had a funeral I had to go to (I was part of the honor guard, a very soleom and honorable thing) and then he left for 7 1/2 months I got orders down ther eluckily right away then he was gone all the time, out of the first 13 months our son (we found out about 3 days after we got married) was alive he was home for only 3 months and 7 days and the lost stint was 12 days! We are now on our fourth Deploymetn in five years and have three boys under the age of four I really know how you feel it is hard to have someone around finally then go to never having someone to share all you secrets and feeling and everything else with it is extremly hard. I'll listen if you ever need to vent I mean I've been there time and time again!
